BASIC LEVEL OF TRAINING “TEACHING IN HIGHER EDUCATION” ORGANIZED BY THE CTE CONCLUDED

Over 80 professors and assistants, full-time staff of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina” responded to the call announced on September the 1st 2019 by the Center for Teaching Excellence for appying for the basic training in “Teaching in Higher Education” and the advanced training in “Planning and Implementing Teaching in Higher Education”.

On the 12th and the 13th of September 2019 the two-day training that was attended by 25 participants was held. The training that was delivered at the premises of the Faculty of Philology by the certified trainers of the CTE was highly evaluated by the participants (average: 4.29), who expressed their  appreciation regarding the content and organization, but also gave suggestions for new training courses that would focus on particular issues of the UP staff activity.

Through this training, participants were acquainted with various contemporary theories and approaches in higher education teaching and learning. During the training, participants exchanged experiences with the CTE trainers and their colleagues participating in a wide range of activities which they could apply in their work with students, constantly aiming the advancement of their teaching skills, as well as the enhancement of students’ results through the promotion of active learning.

The Center for Teaching Excellence will continue offering trainings after the beginning of the academic year for the UP full-time academic staff interested in trainings in our center. Thus far, 417 members of the full-time academic staff of the UP have been certified at basic and advanced level, as well as in the use of technology in university education.
