Call for application for new trainers

In accordance with its mission for the advancement of academic capacities, the development of education systems, and the promotion of effective and quality teaching, the Center for Excellence in Teaching (CTE) of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”, aiming at increasing its training capacities and expanding its pool of certified trainers, invites the UP academic staff to apply for the “Training of Trainers” (TOT) program.

The TOT program is a joint project designed in cooperation with World Learning, State University of Arizona, and UP Center for Teaching Excellence that will be implemented during the period March – June 2018.

The training program comprises modules on most recent approaches to learning and teaching in higher education and also includes the integration of most advanced technology in facilitating the learning and teaching process; hence the improvement of the performance of the instructors, as well as the students’ results.

The TOT program will be implemented in four stages. Three of the stages of the program will be delivered at the UP CTE, while stage three will be realized in the United States of America.

  • Stage 1 - March 9 – 12 (3.5 days; 27hrs)
  • Stage 2 – April 27 – May 1 (5 days; 40hrs)
  • Stage 3 – June (5 days; 40hrs)
  • Stage 4 -  June (4 days; 32hrs)

Eligible to apply for the TOT program are University of Prishtina staff holding a PhD degree or staff in the status of end-stage PhD candidate.

The applicants interested in attending the TOT program and becoming internationally certified UP CTE trainers should enclose the following documents:

  • CV
  • Motivation letter
  • Copy of PhD diploma, or proof of PhD thesis approved by relevant university body
  • Copy of job contract with UP
  • Copy of certificates of relevant trainings received in the past

Applicants will be selected based on their personal file submitted. Priority in selection will be given to applicants with stronger training background and English language proficiency since the major part of the TOT will be delivered in English. A balanced selection of representatives from different disciplines will also be considered.

The selected trainees are required to attend and complete successfully all the components of the program in order to be awarded joint University of Prishtina, World Learning and Arizona State University certificate, and become members of the CTE pool of trainers qualified to train the academic staff of Prishtina University and other higher education institutions.
