THE CTE DELIVERD THE FIRST BASIC TRAINING FOR THE UMIB STAFF

The Center for Teaching Excellence of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina, upon the request of the University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini” commenced the implementation of a 3- stage project of training the staff of this public university.

On January 30 and 31, 2020, the first two-day training of the basic level was delivered through which 20 professors and assistants of this public institution of higher education got acquaitend with contemporary methods in teaching and learning. The participants attended the sessions lead by the trainers internationally certified in university didactics who shared their experience with the UMIB staff. The topics that were elaborated and discussed in the training modules:  Theories and styles of learning and teaching, Presentation skills, Designing learning outcomes, Acitive methods, Assessment and evaluation of students, and Classroom and group management not only arose participants’ interest, but also the cooperation between the participants and the trainers. Hence, a forum for discussion of the challenges in higher education as well as for finding solutions for overcoming was created.

The training in general,  as well as the CTE trainers work in particular, was highly evaluated by the participants (average 4.15 / 5), who expressed their willingness to participate in other CTE trainings in the future.

Two other phases of the CTE trainings for the UMIB staff are planned to be implemented during the year 2020 and 2021.
